Lucky Mule

Here is a little video of me printing a new design from local Oakland Artist Caitlin Hackett,  "At What Cost".  Printing her work on shirts was a challenge as she has very delicate line work and subtle color and shading.   I choose to use discharge ink as the underbase so it will have a softer hand after washing.  Discharge ink is much like bleach, as you are removing the black ink from the t-shirt instead over trying to cover it so it tends to be a lighter print.  Then I used 4 color process for the color over print.  I could not be happier about the final print, it looks amazing and look forward to doing more of her work with this process.  Well you can check it out and be the judge.
